Floatavoltaics (Floating Photovoltaics) Sub-Group

This page is dedicated to the Floatavoltaics Sub-Group of Environment Platform Wales’ Reservoir Research community.

Floatovoltaics, also known as Floating Photovoltaics or FPV are solar panels installed on floating structures in reservoirs or other bodies of water. This group brings together academics with an interest in researching FPVs and how they might impact water quality with industry-experienced practitioners.

Please contact info@epwales.org.uk for more information if you would like to join the group.

The Floatovoltaics sub-group last met on 17/07/25; please see below for access to presentation recordings:

Floating photovoltaics systems at Evides Water – Giovanni Sandrini

Can Floating Solar Designs Minimise Environmental Impacts on Freshwater Reservoirs? – Sofia Rocha
