About the talk:

EXPO-ENGAGE is a research project from the University of Exeter and Cardiff University.  The aim of the project is to facilitate participation in establishing air quality citizen science networks equitably around the country, with the wider goal of engaging people in thinking about environmental issues more broadly.  Since 2021, the team (Jo Garrett, Rachel Hale and Sian de Bell) have conducted two projects in the southwest of England – Bristol and Cornwall (Penryn, Camborne, Redruth and Pool) -and this was extended to Wales in 2022 (Caerphilly County Borough). They are currently working with a primary school in Caerphilly County to co-develop an air quality citizen science project to engage children, teachers, families and the wider community in thinking about air quality and the environment.
