Former Aberystwyth researcher Dr Piotr Łubiński will talk about Climate Refugees and Migration.

About the Speaker

Piotr is a senior lecturer in humanitarian law, human rights. He has PhDs in Law from Krakow and Aberystwyth Universities.

Piotr graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. He participated in the work of the Centre for Studies and Research in International Law and International Relations at the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands. Since 2005, he has been a member of the National Commission of International Humanitarian Law at the Main Board of the Polish Red Cross (to this day) and deputy chairman of the Małopolska Commission of Humanitarian Law at the Małopolska Regional Board of the Polish Red Cross in Krakow (until 2018). Member of the International Law Association – Polish Group. He worked on the second and third shift of PMC Afghanistan as a lawyer (2008). Scholarship holder and lecturer – tutor in law at the University of Wales in Aberystwyth. He participated in workshops on ROE at the Institute of Humanitarian Law in Sanremo and the NATO CIMIC Staff Worker Course workshop in The Hague CIMIC. Scholarship holder in scientific projects in the Netherlands and Great Britain. He has been awarded medals in Poland and abroad; Author of several dozen publications on human rights issues, issues related to international humanitarian law of armed conflicts, security and international criminal law. He cooperates as an expert with the Military Center for Citizenship Education, the War Studies Academy and the NATO CIMIC COE in The Hague.
