As climate change accelerates and coastal pressures intensify, the Severn Estuary Partnership is working to safeguard one of the UK’s most dynamic and valuable estuarine environments. Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Nature Networks 4 programme, the Future Proofing the Severn Estuary project is bringing together communities, charities, researchers, local authorities, and industry to develop practical, evidence‑based approaches that strengthen resilience and enhance ecological health. This talk will highlight one arm of the project’s focus on data and evidence plans, identifying research‑needs priorities that will contribute towards informed decision‑making for the estuary. The project coordinator Beca Morrell will share the project’s vision, key progress, and the collaborative efforts shaping a more resilient coastal future.
