Working towards and achieving Chartership can help you to demonstrate your value to potential employers. It represents a commitment to lifelong learning, workplace skills development and maintaining professional standards.

This webinar is aimed at undergraduates, postgraduates, and early-career graduates across Wales, however anyone is welcome to join.

This webinar will explore:

  • the different routes to chartership and how you can start your journey
  • how chartership can boost your long-term career development
  • how to keep track of your continuing professional development (CPD)
  • what else do chartered institutes have to offer?

The webinar will be co-hosted by chartered institutes that facilitate chartership opportunities, including:

  • Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, Welsh Branch (CIWEM)
  • Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
  • Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES)
  • Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS)


You will have the opportunity to learn about different professional pathways, including:

  • Chartered Ecologist (CEcol), presented by Mandy Marsh, CIEEM
  • Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), presented by Mandy Marsh, CIEEM & Sally Hughes, IES
  • Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP), presented by Sally Hughes, IES
  • Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech), presented by Sally Hughes, IES
  • Chartered Scientist (CSci), presented by Sally Hughes, IES
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), presented by Sophie Dunajko, CIWEM
  • Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (C.WEM), presented by Sophie Dunajko, CIWEM
  • Chartered Meteorologist, presented by Sharon Stephens, RMetS
  • Chartered Forester and Chartered Arboriculturist

There will be an opportunity to talk to representatives from the professional institutes to ask questions and to start building connections.
