About the speaker

Alec Young is the Plastic-Free Yr Wyddfa Project Officer for the Eryri National Park. The Plastic-Free Yr Wyddfa campaign is a unique project aimed at eliminating single-use plastics, and all other waste types from Wales’ highest mountain.  This ambitious target has thus far involved working with the School of Behavioural Change at Bangor University, mobilising local businesses and schools, and creating quirky engagement pieces to inspire mountain users to think twice about single use.

Alec was brought up in south Eryri, and moved back to area after a career in account management. He enjoys surfing, trail running and exploring the many hidden gems of his square mile.
