Simon Rushton | Cardiff University | 17/04/24 13:30 – 14:30
A recent study reported that the majority of academics are concerned about climate change and want to be able to do something. Many other studies have shown that large majorities of students share similar concerns. Universities have an unrivalled breadth of expertise and scale that could be decisive in addressing the challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. Simon will talk about the 1in5 project, an initiative that aims to harness some of the intellectual firepower and broad societal influence of universities and focus it on climate and biodiversity.
