The International Carbon Literacy Action Day is the world’s largest climate education and action event, drawing thousands of participants globally. CLAD 2024 was a monumental success, with a record-breaking 3,926 learners. There is more info on CLAD 2025 including how to get involved on the Carbon Literacy Project website here.

This year’s Action Day aligns with the first few days of COP30, and any Carbon Literacy training that ends between the 10th to the 13th of November will be counted as part of CLAD. So, while world leaders gather to discuss and negotiate on climate policy in Belém, Carbon Literacy learners will be on the ground taking meaningful climate action. Participating organisations receive a CLAD Communications Pack which is full of resources to help you shout about your participation.
The CLAD Catalyst Award theme is Connect, Collaborate, Cascade. Change happens when tipping thresholds are exceeded. So, to accelerate positive climate action, we’re encouraging you to identify the right connections to collaborate and cascade Carbon Literacy. If you have been considering planning a larger Carbon Literacy initiative, this is the ideal time to do so. More information on this year’s Catalyst Award can be found here: https://carbonliteracy.com/carbon-literacy-action-day/clad-catalyst-award/.
