This 1hr training session will introduce you to the Imagine Action Toolkit. The 10 Imagine Action tools are quick to use, and can be utilised in all communications landscapes, whether delivering a presentation, at an event or writing a press release.
This training was developed in response to a real need, responding to calls from individuals, communities and organisations doing great work, but with limited time resource, and small teams without strategic communications expertise. It was designed to help researchers, communicators and changemakers like yourselves communicate the vital work you are doing with greater impact, and provide a collective framework to enable all Imagine Action Toolkit users to direct their communications effectively toward a wider cultural shift.
#ImagineAction aims to redefine the public and political narrative around climate action in Wales to cultivate cultural and political conditions where ambitious action is happening and transformative change is possible.
Much more than a toolkit
Imagine Action is a narrative project integrating cutting-edge social change research, the latest climate communication principles and best practice narrative change frameworks. By taking part in the Imagine Action training your work and communications can be part of this mission.
Imagine Action will bring together hundreds of organisations and thousands of individuals across Wales to redefine the public and political narratives around climate action and the interconnected crises. We will shift the narratives away from toxic, short-term, and outdated framings, to new, and compelling alternatives based on the two following central narratives:
“Done right, climate solutions will improve our lives and lead to a far better future for our communities.”
“Interconnected crises and shared solutions”
These narratives consider climate action with a broad lens and includes action to address the breakdown of nature, inequality, cost-of-living, social & racial injustice and other interconnecting crises. The narrative can relate to any social group – from individual up to a whole nation – and allows a group to lean into their own version of what a better future looks and feels like for them.
In this workshop, Ruth will introduce the Imagine Action toolkit for building effective communications infrastructure to support narrative change, becoming better communicators with expertise in storytelling, visioning and content creation and changing hearts and shifting narratives to maximize the positive impact of your research.
