In this workshop, Ian will introduce creative ways for environmental scientists and researchers to communicate their findings. We will look at effective strategies for stakeholder engagement, including posters, graphical abstracts and high impact reports. About the Speaker
Ian Cooke Tapia is the founder of Cooked Illustrations, overseeing operations, ideation, and developing collaborative, long-term relationships.
He is a writer, visual communicator, educator, illustrator, good cook and builder of compost piles. Ian can often be found with feet on different continents or with hands in the soil. Ian grew up around tropical archaeologists and cattle farmers, which planted a lifelong interest in the anthropogenic environment.
Ian noticed that there is a need for engaging and jocular science communication that goes beyond graphs and textbooks and truly tries to answer the question of how humans learn. Ian’s focus is on the intersection of culture and scientific research & how one influences the other.
